Obituary for Karen Shaw
Karen Shaw, 54, of De Soto/Ottawa, KS passed away on Feb. 18, 2014. A memorial service will be on Sat., Feb. 22nd at 12:00pm at the chapel with visitation 1 hour before. Karen was born September 21, 1959 in Kansas City, KS. She was raised in De Soto and she graduated from De Soto High School in 1977. Karen was married to Larry Shaw and raised their children in the De Soto area. She worked at several nursing homes in the area. Karen was a loving mother, sister and daughter. She will be missed by all that knew her. She was a fighter with her cancer and was uplifting in mind and spirit. She is preceded in death by: father Warren, daughter Amy and son Shaun. Survivors include sons Michael and Christopher Shaw of the home, mother Patricia Earlene Phillips of Ottawa, KS, brothers James Phillips of Lawrence, KS, Roger Phillips and Rick Phillips of Ottawa, KS and grandmother Virginia Magers.
