Wanda R. Reinking, 83, of Topeka /Overland Park, KS passed away on January 3, 2020 in Topeka, KS. Funeral services will be held on January 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7851 W. 119th St., Overland Park, KS with visitation starting at 10:00 AM at the church. Graveside services at 1:30 PM at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lawrence, KS.
Wanda was born July 5, 1936 in Lawrence, KS to Ernest and Wilma (Sumner) Mullin.
Wanda graduated from Topeka High School. She was an avid bowler for many years, she sang with “The Sweet Adelines” and was a master gardener. Wanda worked for MGIC Title Insurance Company for many years. She volunteered for Blessings Abound. Wanda married Frederick Shafer in 1956 and from this union had two children. She married Richard Reinking in 1981.
Preceded in death by: father Ernest Mullin; mother Wilma (Sumner) Eliot; husband Richard Reinking; brothers Ernest “Bud” Mullin and David Mullin; Frederick Shafer.
Survivors include: children Jerry Shafer and Laura (Raymond) Boos both of Topeka, KS; step-daughter Angie (Chris) Bartak-Reinking of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren Paul (Chris) Lacock of Topeka, KS, Andrew (Roji) Lacock of Binghamton, NY, Marikisha Boos of Topeka, KS and Oscar Bartak of Lawrence, KS; 5 great grandchildren Christian, Kylie, Gustavo, Noelia and Audrianna.
