Wendy A. Cox, 65, of Marshall, MO passed away on Oct. 6, 2023.
She was born on May 3, 1958. She graduated from De Soto High School in 1976 and graduated college with 2 bachelor's degrees. She was registered in Kansas as a Child Advocate. Testifying in court regarding temporary and permanent placement for many children. Wendy became a foster parent. She enjoyed kids and always worried about them. She always had a smile and was happy to see and talk to people. Her heart was bigger than life and she had a loving and caring way about her. She gladly welcomed old and new friends. She grew up in De Soto and was a member of the De Soto Baptist Church for many years, then she moved to Gardner, KS., Topeka, KS and then to Marshall, MO.
Wendy was never married and has no family able to help take care of her final wishes. A classmate has stepped forward and we brought Wendy home to De Soto.
The strong relationships built though friendships from school and beyond. Forging friendships for a lifetime. Showing not only she cared for them, but they cared for her. She touched to many lives.
There will not be any services for Wendy, but she will be laid to rest at Shawnee Memory Gardens with her parents.
Christmas was Wendy's favorite holiday. We ask that you hang a pair of wings or an angel on your tree in remembrance of Wendy. The warm heart and solid soul of our friend. That she will never be forgotten.
Proceeded in death by her parents Earl F. and Lorita (Drumm) Cox
Survivors: brother Davis Cox of Emporia, KS and many cousins and a host of friends
