Wanda Lee (Hardin) Cowan, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, at Hillside Village.
Memorial service will be held May 20, 2026 at7:00 PM with visitation from 6-7:00 PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel 32665 Lexington Ave. De Soto KS
She was born in Clarksville, Arkansas, to Orlan and Lois Pauline (Sexton) Hardin on July 19, 1937. Wanda graduated from Clarksville High School and went on to attend Draughon Business College. She worked for the Johnson County Airport Commission until her retirement.
Wanda married John Cowan on December 19, 1959. Together they raised three children, Gary, Randy, and Sandra. They enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with their children and grandchildren. Wanda and John traveled to all 50 states and several countries around the world.
Wanda is survived by her loving husband, John; her son, Gary Cowan; her son, Randy Cowan and his wife, Melissa; and her daughter, Sandra Peterson and her husband, Kirt. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Orlan and Lois Hardin, and her sister, Betty Mottwiler.
Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love and wonderful memories cherished by her family and friends, who will miss her dearly.
