Obituary for Steven Ray Davis
Steven Ray Davis, 57, of De Soto, KS passed away on August 28, 2018. A memorial service will be held on September 6th with visitation from 6 to 7:30PM and the service at 7:30PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Private graveside at De Soto Cemetery, De Soto KS

Steve was born March 3, 1961 in Lawrence, KS to Joesph and Helen Davis. He graduated from De Soto High School in 1979 where he excelled in football and track. He then went to Emporia State on a football scholarship, earning a Bachelors degree in business.
He married Ann Pennington in 1987 and they raised their children in De Soto. He was always there for his kids and loved coaching them in sports, especially football and baseball. Steve enjoyed outdoor activities including kayaking, fishing, frisbee and gardening. If he was outside, he was happy. He was a die hard Chiefs fan and grilled the best barbecue. He was extremely passionate about his work and could build anything, like fountains, houses and fire pits made from stone or brick.
Steve loved his kids and his grandbabies and his world revolved around them. He was the best Dad and Peaches Papa anyone could ask for. He is loved and will truly be missed by all.
Preceded in death by his parents Joe and Helen Davis.
Survived by: his daughters Jennifer (Jeff) Blauw of Olathe, KS and Katie Davis of De Soto, KS; son Clinton (Kelsey) Davis of De Soto, KS; brother Lawrence (Joan) Davis of De Soto; sisters Bev Davis of Fort Scott, KS and Chrissy (Wes) Beehee of De Soto, KS; grandchildren Lili, Diego, Rosalie and Corbin; nieces and nephews Danny, Anna Belle, Joey, Stacy and Wendy; and his beloved dog Socks.
