Obituary for Richard W. Pickett
Richard W. Pickett, 66, of De Soto, KS passed away on August 23, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be held August 28, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Visitation will be held August 27th from 6-8:00 PM at the Chapel. There will be a shared visitation with his mother Elaine Pickett.

Richard was born February 11, 1955 in Unionville, MO to Keith and Eva Elaine (Owings) Pickett. He was a Shawnee, KS native. After high school, he joined the Navy and proudly served our country on the USS Tripoli during Vietnam. He married Linda (White) in 1978. They moved to De Soto in the summer of 1983, where they raised 2 children. Richard enjoyed playing music with the County Bandit, Black Diamond and with friends and family. He also enjoyed camping, riding horses, his Harley and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Preceded in death by: parents Keith and Elaine Pickett.
Survivors: wife Linda, of the home; daughter Julie (Mark) Wright and son Michael Pickett all of Osawatomie, KS; sisters Gayla (Tom) Stoffer of Louisburg, KS and Sherry L. Gates of Mansfield, MO; grandsons Jonathon and Justin.
