He was a lifelong resident of DeSoto, KS and graduated in 1969 from De Soto High School. He married Constance in 1970 and with that union came his loving daughter Michelle, that he was very proud of.
He worked for the Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant and Vanguard Airlines. After retiring, Monte pursued his lifelong passion of golf. He traveled the United States and abroad, sharing his humor and laughter as he went. If you were looking for a happy hour, you only had to visit the DeSoto VFW where you could find him tending bar and chatting it up with old family friends. Monte will be remembered for his ornery disposition and cheerful chuckle.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Constance and his sisters Becky Bowers and Teri Evans.
He leaves behind his daughter Michelle (Derina) Yockel of Lawrence, KS; his brother Danny (Linda) Evans of New Hope, TX; his sister Melissa Evans of Eudora, KS; grandchildren Justine and Jessica: and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Everyone who knew Monte has a story to tell. We will celebrate his life and those tales with one last toast at the DeSoto VFW, “The V”.
