Obituary for Mark D. Whitmore
Mark D. Whitmore, 63, of Olathe, KS passed away on February 14, 2018. Graveside services will be held on February 17, 2018 at De Soto Cemetery, De Soto at 11:00AM. Visitation will be held Friday, February 16th from 6-8PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., DeSoto, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations to MSA Coalition, 9935-D Rea Road, #212, Charlotte, NC 28277.
Mark was born on July 16, 1954 in Omaha, NE to Darrell and Betty Whitmore. Mark worked at Honeywell for over 35 years, formally King Radio. He married Joyce Coleman on March 10, 1978 in De Soto, KS. Two children came from this union, Scott and Amie, who were raised in Olathe, KS. He had a passion for the outdoors and loved spending time with his family.
Mark is preceded in death by his parents Darrell and Betty Whitmore.
Survivors include: wife Joyce of the home; son Scott (Amy) Whitmore of Rossville, KS; daughter Amie (Deepak) Narayanan of Olathe, KS; grandchildren Clair, Grant, Mitchell and Maya; brother Steve Whitmore; sister Laura (Larry) Staley all of Omaha, NE.
