Obituary for Leota R. Fruit
Leota Rose (Payton) Fruit, 71, of De Soto, KS passed April 11, 2015 at her home with heart problems. Funeral services will be held April 17, 2015 at 2:00PM with visitation from 1-2:00PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Leota was born November 19, 1943 in Chula, MO. She was raised in De Soto and raised her children there. Leota worked for S.R.S. in Olathe until retirement. Then worked for the De Soto School Dist. as a bus aide, which she enjoyed. She loved genealogy and keeping up with the cemeteries in our area. Leota also loved her flower garden. Preceded in death by: parents George and Elfreeda Payton; sister Georgene Paxton, and baby brother Jesse Payton. Survivors include: husband Ronald Fruit of the home; daughters Martina Park of De Soto, KS and Alicia ( T.J.) McCleary of Mountian Grove, MO; son Justin Large of Ottawa, KS; sisters Audrey Quaile and Loretta Nichols; brother Carl Payton; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
