Leland Lister, age 84, of Eudora, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
Celebration of Life will be held at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, Aug. 19, 2024, at 12:00 PM. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 prior to services. Graveside De Soto Cemetery, De Soto KS.
He was born in Junction City, Kansas, to Ray and Viola (Gfeller) Lister. Leland dedicated a remarkable career to the computer programming industry. After marrying his wife of 60 years, Frankie, He began at Boeing and concluded his professional journey with a successful tenure at Western Auto Supply Company, where he worked for over 30 years.
After retiring Leland and his wife embraced RVing, spending winters in warmer climates. He was also a devoted golfer and loved playing his guitar participating in jam sessions with friends.
Leland’s ingenuity and resourcefulness were evident in his ability to fix almost anything. He would research, read, and tackle any project, whether tinkering in his outbuilding or maintaining his tractors and lawn mowers. His love for hands-on work and his dedication to staying busy will be fondly remembered.
Leland is survived by his loving wife, Frankie. A sister Carolyn (Gene) and sister-in-law Linda. His children, Pam (Mitch) Brent (Anne) Mark (Sarah); grandchildren, Stephen (Jennifer)] Sarah (Ryan) Reeyce, Zachary, Bryce; great grandchildren, William, Luke, Elijah, Anna, and Adelaide. He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Viola and brother Bob.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Leland’s life will be held on Monday August 19th with visitation 10:00am-12:00pm at Cedar Crest Memorial De Soto, Ks. Burial immediately following at De Soto Cemetery.
