Obituary for Karen L. Middaugh
Karen Lynn Middaugh 86 of De Soto, KS passed June 13, 2024, at Advent Health.
Private graveside Mt. Sidney Cemetery, Linwood KS
Karen was born April 5, 1938 in Iola KS to Earl and Loreta (Daniel) Calvert.
The family moved to Corpus Cristi TX where they lived until Karen was 13 years of age. when they came back to Kansas, they lived in the De Soto area. Where her father worked at Sunflower Army Ammunition Plant.
Karen graduated from De Soto High School in 1955 where she was involved in all the activities. She married Larry Middaugh in 1957 also from DeSoto, where they raised their three children. Karen was a homemaker while the kids grew up.
Karen went to work for Johnson County Jail and retired from there. After Larry and she retired, they moved to Appleton City, MO where Larry had grown up. They enjoyed fishing all the lakes and rivers throughout KS and MO. They enjoyed the time together. She had suffered a stroke in 2013 Larry passed two years later. Eventually moving her to Hillside Village in De Soto.
Karen was "Loved" and had many friends throughout her life which she stayed in touch with. She will be missed.
Preceded in death by parents Earl and Loreta Calvert, husband Larry Middaugh and sister Kelly Buckley
Survivors Lynn Pollett of Seattle WA, Sons Adam Middaugh of Phenix AZ. and Matthew of Omaha NE, grandchildren Kyrie and Cameron Middough
