Johnny Guy Burnett, 68 of De Soto KS, passed April 18,2015 at the home. With his family by his side. He graduated from Manhattan High in 1965. John married Patricia Evers on April 19, 1968. He honorably served our county in the Vietnam War with the Kansas National Guard and was a member of the Local V.F.W. John built a career in the auto parts industry; owning stores in Overland Park and Gardner, KS. He resided in De Soto where he and Patty rasied four children. John was very active in his children's lives; co-founding the DeSoto Wrestling Club and coaching girls softball for many years. He was a hard worker, loving husband, devoted father and proud grandpa. Preceded in death by: Parents Ora Dale and Fern (Smith) Burnett Survivors:Wife, Patty Burnett of DeSoto KS Son, Tim Burnett and wife Nikki of Baldwin City, KS Son, TJ Burnett and wife Meagan of DeSoto, KS Daughter, Laurie Johnson and husband Ryan of Paola, KS Daughter, Lisa Jones and husband Mike of Bonner Springs, KS Brother Don Burnett of Winter Haven, FL. Sister Judy Goodson of Manhattan KS Grandchildren: Christian Jones,Sarah Burnett,Emma Burnett, McKenzie Jones, Anna Burnett, Marina Johnson, Rylee Jones Macoy Johnson, Brock Johnson, Lincoln Burnett, Baby Burnett, due July 2015. Many friends, neices, nephews and cousins.
