Obituary for James Keeney
James Keeney, 90, of De Soto, KS passed away Dec 13, 2013. Funeral services will be held on Dec 17th at 2:00pm with visitation 1 hour before at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave. De Soto. Graveside at De Soto Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to De Soto VFW, P.O. Box 54, De Soto, KS 66018. James was born on March 24, 1923 in Stillwell, KS. He married Becky Haun in 1942. He retired from Lock Joint Pipe Co. He enjoyed the private fishing lake they owned "Keeney's Lake". He was a member of De Soto VFW and American Legion of Olathe. He had a love for music, singing and playing guitar. He is preceded in death by wife Rebecca Kenney and son Vic Keeney. Survivors include: brother Jack Keeney of Shawnee, KS, son Jim (Linda) Keeney of Paso Robles, CA, grandchildren Kim Keeney, Tobe (Joshua) Morrow, Bryan (Stephanie) Keeney all of CA, Nick Keeney and C.J. Keeney of Smithville, MO, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
