Obituary for James Johnson
James D. Johnson, 74 of Linwood KS passed Sept 5, 2021 at his home.
Services will be held Oct. 1, 2021 at 1:30 PM at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS
Jim was born Aug. 6, 1947 in Kansas City, KS. to Thomas and Evelyn (Ptomey) Johnson. He graduated from Piper High School in 1965 after high school he and his friend Denny took a road trip of a life time returning to enter the draft. He joined the US Navy serving our county during Vietnam. He married Marlene Thompson on April 29, 1972 they lived in Piper KS for many years. Jim worked at Owens Corning Fiberglass until retirement in 2007. He was a agent orange survivor, he also survived prostate cancer and finally lost his battle to lung cancer.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and horseshoes with his brothers and then teaching his sons the art. Jim dearly loved spending time with his family. The most special time was time he spent with his grand kids.

David (Melissa) Johnson of Crystal River Florida, Scott Johnson of Linwood and 6 Grandchildren Elizabeth, Kaitlyn, Brianna, Madison, James and Stacey.
