James D. Frickey 67 from De Soto KS passed April 16, 2025 at KU Med. Services will be held Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 11:00 AM with visitation April 21 from 6-8:00 PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel 32665 Lexington Ave. De Soto, KS
Jimmy was born Sept. 21, 1957 in Topeka, KS to Donald L. and Dorothy J. (Hauke) Frickey.
Jim graduated from De Soto High School in 1975 and worked for the Johnson County med-act as driver and mechanic for 42 years. He was a fireman and EMT. Helping to design a medical left for Johnson county for easier transport. He was a volunteer fireman for De Soto and help get our first ambulance. Always lending a helping hand with mechanical help when ever needed. He loved his job and took such pride in his work.
He enjoyed flying his remote control and gas planes and glider. He was ranked top level of the plane and gliders competitions. They traveled many states for his competitions. He belonged to Academy of Model Aeronautics and member of the barnstormers in Hillsdale KS. Jim made many friends in his travels.
Jim spent many hours on the Kaw river in his air boat fishing. He enjoyed hunting with guns and bows. He married Kathy Crutchfild on July 1, 1995 and they lived in De Soto.

Survivors: Wife Kathy of the home, sister Nancy Lindbloom of Rogers, AR brother Mike Frickey of Shawnee, KS Many nieces and nephews.
