Obituary for JIM L. CANNON
JIM L. CANNON, 78, of De Soto, KS passed away February 26, 2015 at home around his loving family. Funeral services on March 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Visitation on Sunday March 1, 2015 from 5:30-8:00PM at the Chapel with Mason Services at 5:30 PM. Graveside services De Soto Cemetery, De Soto, KS. Memorial contributions to Masons De Soto Lodge #40, 33075 W 83rd St., De Soto, KS 66018. Jim was born on October 6, 1936 in Cameron, OK. He owned and operated Jim Cannon Trucking along with wife Betty in De Soto for over 40 years. He worked construction and finished concrete for many years. He enjoyed his antique cars and was a member of the Masons Lodge # 40. He was a loving husband, dad and papa and will be missed by all. Preceded in death by: son Randy Murphy, brothers Lloyd Cannon, Shorty Cannon, and Ralph Cannon, sisters Betty Sue Frear and Reba Faye Taylor and parents Sherman and Leedia Cannon. Survivors include: wife Betty of the home; sons Jimmy (Pam) Cannon of Bolivar, MO and Roy (Marva) Murphy Jr. of De Soto, KS; grandchildren Marvadawn (Chad ) Cannon of De Soto, KS, Dusty Murphy and Mandy Murphy of Overbrook, KS, Kelsey Cannon, Jason (Cera) Maggard and Larry Cannon all of Springfield, MO; brothers Dean Cannon of Eudora, KS; sister Ellen Williams of Eudora, KS and several great grandchildren.
