Helen Louise (McCoy) Hutchens August 14, 1926 - November 28, 2015 After a short illness, Helen Louise (McCoy) Hutchens of Hendersonville, NC, formerly of Liberty, MO, passed away on November 28, 2015. She was 89 years old, born August 14, 1926, the daughter of Garland and Anna Mae (Chapel) McCoy. Helen was preceded in death by husband Byron "Hutch" Hutchens in 1985, son James Nolan in 2008, and sister Mildred Marcella (McCoy) Swearingin in 1999; and is survived by daughter-in-law Theresa Nolan, brothers Melvin McCoy (Sarah), Harrison McCoy (Jean), Ted McCoy (Cheri), and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She had been a member of Liberty Presbyterian Church, and was attending Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Liberty, MO, regularly before moving to Hendersonville, NC. Helen had been a volunteer at Liberty Hospital and headed the Meals on Wheels program in Liberty, MO for many years. She also worked at McBowl in Liberty and Eagle Picture in Oklahoma. Helen and friends Sarah (Render) McCoy, Nancy (Render) Gilmore and Pat (Heart) Lamb created The Gashouse Gang while young adults, and had met regularly until just this past summer. There will be no services at Helen's request. Donations can be made to the James and Theresa Nolan Foundation (80 Ellisville Rd, Plymouth, MA 02360), which is dedicated to educational scholarships.
