Obituary for Gary Jack Pannell
Gary Jack Pannell, 79, of Olathe, KS passed away Aug.9, 2013. Funeral services will be held Aug. 16, at 10:00 AM at Countryside Church, 14150 W 175 St. Olathe, KS. Visitation will be held Aug. 15 from 6-8:00PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave. De Soto, KS. Graveside services will be held Aug. 17 at 1:00 PM at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Arkansas City, KS. Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 2153 Olathe, KS 66051. Gary was born April 13, 1934 in Arkansas City, KS. He played minor league baseball for the Brooklyn Dodgers Farm Team. He served in the U.S. Army and was a proud member of the 82nd Airborne and served in Germany with the 2nd Armored Division during the Korean War. He belonged to the De Soto V.F.W. and American Legion of Olathe and was a lifetime member of both. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church of Olathe. Throughout his lifetime he was a active member with Gideons International. Gary worked in the candy industry for over 40 years. Then had a successful real estate career before retirement. Survivors Wife Joyce of the home, daughter Jacquelyn Benney of Eudora, KS, son Charles and Stephanie Pannell of Olathe, KS, daughter Micquelyn and Gary Malina of Overland Park, KS, and 7 grandchildren.
