Obituary for Eva Elaine Pickett
Eva Elaine PIckett, 90, of Olathe, KS passed away August 21, 2021 at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be held August 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Visitation will be held August 27th from 6-8:00 PM at the Chapel. There will be a shared visitation with her son Richard Pickett.

Elaine was born June 21, 1931 in Greencastle, MO, the daughter of Jesse and Edith (Collins) Owings. She was one of eleven children. She was also raised in Greencastle and moved to Olathe, KS in the mid 1970's she also lived in Shawnee, KS for several years. She was united in marriage to Keith PIckett on June 25, 1949 in Kirksville, MO. With this union, they had three children. Keith preceded her in death on April 15, 1977.
Elaine was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She worked as a shipping clerk for Vita Craft in Shawnee, KS in the early 1970's. In the mid 1970's to early 1980's, she worked in the Shipping Dept. at Kenneth Smith Golf Clubs in Shawnee, KS. She was a member of the American Vets of Olathe.
She enjoyed listening to music, watching and KC Royals baseball and KC Chiefs football. She enjoyed spring flowers and fall foliage. Elaine's favorite time was spent at home in the presence of her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by: her husband, parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include: daughter Sherry L. Gates of Mansfield, MO; son Richard (Linda) Pickett of De Soto, KS (Richard passed away August 23, 2021); daughter Gayla (Tom) Stoffer of Louisburg, KS; grandchildren, Dawn (Mark) Mace of Mansfield, MO, Michelle Moore of Belton, MO, Aaron (Christy) Stoffer of Stilwell, KS, Julie (Mark) Wright of Osawatomie, KS, Jessie (Chad) Robertson of Louisburg, KS, Michael Pickett of Osawatomie, KS and eleven great grandchildren.
