Butch was born November 9, 1950 in Carthage, Missouri to Dick and Lee Wallace. He and his parents ran the Town Tavern in Linwood for many years. One of his favorite past times was watching his favorite sports teams; the Chiefs, the Royals, and KU Jayhawks. He also took great pleasure in making homemade crafts and loved sharing them with others.

The joy of his life was his family. Butch was a compassionate man who cared for his mother for many years, and was always an encouraging father. His grandchildren were blessed to have such a silly, loving grandfather. He showed unconditional love to many.

He is preceded in death by: parents Richard “Dick” and Merna “Lee” Wallace, brother William Wallace and sister Sharon Earley.

Survivors include: his son Russell Wallace of Linwood, KS; brother Richard Wallace of Pleasant Hill, MO; sisters Frances “Cookie” Long of Grovois, MO and Patricia Bateson of Tonganoxie, KS; in-laws Dan Earley and Thelma Wallace; grandchildren Brittani, Amber, and Allie; great grandchildren Braiden, Joseph, Tinsley, Millie, and Julianna; several nieces, nephews, and friends; as well as his best bud Ozzie the cat and Darrell Long.
