A native of Kansas City, KS, Ed was born on September 18th, 1938. He graduated from Wyandotte High School and joined the US Navy in 1956, proudly serving his country, and he carried his deep love of country with him for his lifetime.
In the early 1960’s, Ed moved to California where he welcomed his two beloved sons, Danny and Kenneth, born in 1965 and 1967. Ed always enjoyed his time with his sons, particularly memories of dirt biking with them in the California Sierra Hills. He was an accomplished construction inspector for the city and county of San Francisco, CA, retiring in 2001.
Ed was an exceptional artist with quite a talent for rendering architectural drawings and portraits, and creating unique, detailed miniature models of famous buildings from notable movies and well-known landmarks. He was also a true railway enthusiast and collector of model trains, having grown up around his father working as a welder for the Union Pacific Railroad. As children, Ed and his friends would even sneak down to the rail yards once in a while to play before eventually getting chased off by the railroad detective! He also particularly enjoyed visits with his brother, Danny, and morning coffees with his wife, Georgia, and their cross-country road trips, often exploring and experiencing the Pacific coastline together.
Ed was a loving father, grandpa, and husband. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Viola Yount, and his infant sister, Donna. He is survived by his wife, Georgia, his sons, Danny (Vicki) Yount of Washington, and Kenneth Yount of Kansas City, KS, his brother, Danny Yount of Kansas City, KS, and his grandchildren, Kyle, Jacob, Patricia, Talon and Daniel.
