Obituary for Dewayne L. Stone
Dewayne L. Stone, 84, of Harlingen, Texas passed away on May 20, 2020. Private graveside will be held on May 28, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS. A drive through visitation will be May 27, 2020 from 6-8:00 PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Due to the Covid19 we ask that you remain in your car for the safety of all.
Dewayne was born November 11, 1935 in Kansas City, KS to Lawrence and Ruby (Teters) Stone. He graduated from Tuner High School in 1953, and shortly after, married Wanda Lucas.
Dewayne retired from Proctor and Gamble in 1991 after many years of service. After retirement, he and Wanda become snowbirds settling in Harlingen, Texas for the winters and meeting and making new friends along the way. Dewayne enjoyed cards, fishing, golf and dancing. He totally enjoyed life.
Preceded in death by: parents and wife Wanda in 2000.
Survivors include: daughter Sheila Stone of Shawnee, KS; son Tim Stone of Hermitage, TN; brother Jerry (Betty) Stone of De Soto, KS; 4 grandchildren Doug, Monica, Heather and Nicolette; 13 great grandchildren and companion Shirley VanSickle of Warsaw, MO.
