Obituary for Delores N. Lycan
Delores N. Lycan, 82, of Olathe/De Soto, KS passed away October 3, 2015 at Overland Park Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 9, 2015 at 7:30PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. Visitation will be on October 9, 2015 from 6-7:30PM at the Chapel. Private graveside at De Soto Cemetery, De Soto, KS. Memorial contribution may be made in Delores's name to the American Cancer Society. Delores was born April 11, 1933 in Willis, KS. She was raised in De Soto and graduated from De Soto High School in 1951. She was in the United States Air Force from 1957-1960, serving our country. Delores married Daurice (Mike) L. Lycan in 1962 after coming home from the service. They had 3 daughters and raised them in De Soto. Delores drove a school bus for almost 40 years. She was active in sports and all the girls activities. She loved the Chiefs and KU basketball. The biggest love of all was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was greatly loved and will be missed. She is preceded in death by: parents John and Hazel Baxter; husband Mike Lycan; brothers Don Baxter, John Baxter and Delbert Baxter and sister Mildred Baxter. Survivors include: daughters Denise (Frank) Fiatte of Crocker, MO, Joyce Pipes of Lawrence, KS and Liz Lycan of Olathe, KS; 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
