Obituary for Danny L. Gulley Sr.
Danny L. Gulley Sr., 74, of De Soto, KS passed away on November 25, 2019. Graveside service will be November 30, 2019 at 10:00AM at De Soto Cemetery, De Soto, KS. A Memorial Service will be held on November 30, 2019 at 3:00PM with friends and family from 2:00-3:00PM at Overland Park Baptist Temple, 11648 Antioch Road, Overland Park, KS 66210.
Dan was born January 31, 1945 in Kansas City, KS to Ernest and Lola Gulley. He was the tenth of eleven children. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1963. He joined the U.S. Navy and served our country from 1966-1971. He married Ginger Brown on June 25, 1966 in Kansas City, KS. They celebrated 53 wonderful years together. They moved their family to De Soto in 1976.
Dan worked for the phone companies for 39 years. His enjoyment came from being outdoors, water, hunting and all sports. He was always involved in church and loved his church family. Dan was always the life of the party. Always with a friendly smile and a laugh. He was a loving husband, dad and grandpa. He loved his family.
Preceded in death by: parents Ernest and Lola Gulley, brothers Joe and Bobby Gulley and sister Betty Parr.
Survivors include: wife Ginger of the home; children Sherry (David) Cook of Lansing, KS, Danny Gulley Jr. of Abilene, TX, Dana (Robert) Hinds of Olathe, KS and Kerry (Roger) Shealy of Liberty, WV; brothers Ernest (Buck) Gulley of Climax Springs, MO, Jimmy (Maye) Gulley of De Soto, KS and Larry (Donna) Gulley of De Soto, KS; sisters Peggy Holwick of McClouth, KS, Beulah Miller of Lenexa, KS, Kathy Bohlken of Mission, KS and Judy (Hank) Frese of Belton, MO; his beloved grandchildren John, Matthew, Rachel, Jessica, Amanda, Katey, Cameron, Collin, Lauren, Franklin, Ari, Miles, Ian, Bethany, Amos, Ligon, and Maria; great granddaughter Leah.
