Obituary for Cynthia D. King
Cynthia Diane King (Cindy), 62, of Olathe, KS, passed Wednesday August 7, 2019. Cindy was born to Calvin and Mary Payne, February 11, 1957, in Pasadena, CA. She graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1975. She married David King on October 1, 1976. Together they raised three children.

She leaves as her legacy three children: Jeremy King (Caitlin), Jodi-lyn Gordon, and McKenzie King (Matthew). She also leaves behind one grandchild, Jenna-may Gordon. She also leaves to cherish her memory three siblings: Bruce Payne (Sue), Randy Payne, Sr. (Brenda), and Brian Payne (Kyle Ann). Other survivors include Marjorie King (Mother in-law), brother-in-laws Robert King (Jeanne) and Lewis King (Jennifer) as well as many nieces, nephews and grand-dogs.

She was preceded in death by Calvin Payne (father), Mary Payne (Mother), Jesse Payne (Grandfather), Etta Mae Payne (Grandmother), Elizabeth McKenzie (Grandmother), George McKenzie (Grandfather), Wayne King (Father-in-law), Terry King (Sister-in law), and Denise King (niece).

Cindy worked for First Federal Bank of Kansas City for 37 years. Aside from work, she loved visiting the beach, lake trips with her family, ballroom dancing, and had the biggest heart for animals.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday August 12, 2019 at De Soto United Methodist Church, 8760 Kill Creek Rd, De Soto, KS 66018. Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm, followed by a celebration of life at 6:30 pm. We invite you to join us for refreshments after the ceremony.
