Obituary for Charles E. Vest
Charles E. Vest, 69, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away April 24, 2016 at Providence Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on April 29, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS. with visitation one hour prior. Memorial donations may be made to Sharon Vest at Union Bank and Trust, 309 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.

Charlie was born September 23, 1946 in Venture, CA to Leslie and Alice Vest. Charlie went to school in the De Soto and Monticello area. He married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Bolen, on July 2, 1966 and they began raising their family of three children. Charlie loved to spend quality time with his family and friends. He would tell many stories and make others laugh. Charlie enjoyed fishing, camping and golfing. He was always fixing things and became known as “Mr. Fix It.” Charlie would help anyone in need and expect nothing in return. Once he met you, he would call you a friend. Charlie was and is a friend to many and loved by all that met him.

Charlie was preceded in death by: his parents Leslie and Alice Vest, brother Ray Vest and grandson Garion Vest. Charlie is survived by: his wife Sharon of the home; sons Dan Vest of Junction City, KS and Troy and Kim Vest of Shawnee, KS; daughter Robin and Tod Kraus of Bonner Springs, KS; grandsons Andrew Vest, Shane Vest, Jonathan Kraus and Thomas Kraus; sisters Janice Sue and Jerry Stauch of McClouth, KS, Patrica and Geno Harris of Ozark, AR, Sharon Elmore of Shallotte, NC, Edna and Garly Minks of Shallotte, NC and Carol Ripley of Pittsburg, MO and brothers Leslie Vest Jr. of Nevada, MO and Robert Vest of Ozark, AR.
