Obituary for Beverly A. Willis-Wyant

Beverly A. Willis-Wyant, 90, of Eudora, Kansas peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by family on November 26, 2022. Services will be held at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Avenue, DeSoto, Kansas. Beverly's children will greet family and friends on Saturday December 10, 2022 during visitation from 1-2:30pm. A memorial service will follow immediately at 2:30. A private burial will be completed at a later date.


Beverly was born July 12, 1932, in Marlboro, Missouri to Homer and Virgina (Hickerson) Stevenson. The family moved to De Soto sometime around 1940 where Beverly attended school. 


She married Jimmie Willis on June 15, 1950. They raised a large family and lived in De Soto most of her life. 


After her husband's accidental death in 1969 she worked to support her family as a waitress at the Horseshoe Cafe and Osburn's Drive-In while attending night school to get her GED. She went on to work for Johnson County Mental Health Center as a Paraprofessional and retired from Wyandotte County Court where she worked as a Court Service Officer with the Sexual Offender Unit.


Her hobbies included reading, painting, puzzles, playing solitaire and acting in the Lawrence Community Theater and with the Lawrence Vintage Players. She also loved to shop and go out to eat with her children, grandchildren and friends. 


She is preceded in death by her husband's, Jimmie Willis in 1969 and Jesse Wyant in 2013, sister Patricia Mailen in 2017, daughters Karen Willis in 1955, Anita Miller in 2015 and Brenda Dolina in 2017.


She is survived by her daughters Beverly Cadue (Kenneth) of Bonner Springs, Sheery Regalado (Jose) of Eudora, Linda Peak (Larry) of Spring Hill and Beth Ann Kringer of Olathe, sons Mike Willis (Judy) of Eudora and Patrick Willis (Candy) of LaCygne; 26 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren
