Obituary for Audrey June Quaile
Audrey June Quaile left this mortal realm on October 18th 2020. A memorial service will be held on November 4, 2020 at 7:00 PM, with visitation from 6-7:00 PM at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, 32665 Lexington Ave., De Soto, KS.
She decided she wanted to hang out with her brother Carl Payton (Cynthia), her sisters Leota Fruit (Ron), Georgene Paxton (Leonard), and Loretta Nichols (Rick) and her mom and dad George and Elfreeda Payton. She may have gone a bit early to avoid the presidential election as well.
It was certainly a sad day for Club Pogo and the family she has left behind. Her only daughter Amanda Payton and Audrey’s grandchildren, Josh Hopkins, Elizabeth Hopkins and Max Hopkins will miss her a lot, but they know she is watching and waiting for them. Besides, she promised Amanda she would communicate from the other side after picking up advice from ghosts on paranormal investigations. Amanda has since decided that may not be a good idea. She has a step daughter Jackie Christensen and granddaughter Kristi as well. They live in California. She also leaves behind a slew of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was a good person, so she had a lot of good friends and close family. She loved them all very much and loved talking to them. Audrey was born in Cameron, MO on June 13th in the year 1955 and spent most of her life in De Soto, Kansas. She did live in Texas for a couple of years, but we all pretend that did not happen. In De Soto, she was part of the Jaycees, Willow Springs Extension, she was an EMT and she even played in bands and partied at the park. She worked as a social worker for Catholic Social Services then as a legal secretary for SRS where all her sisters and mother worked. It was all a good time until the admins decided there would be no more food parties, so Audrey decided to retire so she could babysit her husband Jack Quaile and make sure he didn’t burn the house down. Audrey was a caring, creative, loving person and just really wanted to help people.
