Obituary for Carol Janette Day
Carol Janette Day, 77, of Kansas City, KS passed away peacefully at Shawnee Mission Medical Center on July 29, 2017. Surrounded by the love of her family, she departed the earth and crossed over into everlasting life, to be with her Lord and Savior.

Services will be held August 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel 32665 Lexington Ave. De Soto KS. Graveside at De Soto Cemetery, De Soto KS. Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Ass., Donation Processing Center,

Carol was born in Garnett, KS on April 20, 1940 to Arthur and Ethel Ashburn. She was the fourth of six children. She was blessed with six children .

Preceded in death by her infant son, Warren Shelton Jr., parents Arthur and Ethel Ashburn
and brothers Claron Ashburn and Bill Ashburn

Survivors: sons Michael Mitchell of Kansas City, KS and Ron Mitchell of Overland Park, KS; daughters Rose Mitchell of Salina, KS and Tina (Ken) Kramer of Kansas City, KS; son David (Jennifer) Shelton of Edgerton, KS;sisters Shirley Ireland of Las Vegas, NV and Barbara (Gene) Roberts of Edgerton, KS; brother Rich Ashburn of Grove, OK; 11 grandchildren Tonya, Christina, Jeremy, Justin, John, Celeste, Shawn, Shane, Jeanette, Ashley and Alison and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

It has been said, one of a persons greatest contributions are in the ones they leave behind. So is the case for Carol, as she left a part of herself as a living legacy in the hearts and minds of her family and friends.
